Description / Abstract: This test method covers the determination of the splitting tensile strength of cylindrical concrete specimens, such as molded cylinders and drilled cores.

Note 1—For methods of molding cylindrical specimens, see R 39 and T 23. For methods of obtaining drilled cores, see T 24M/T 24.

The values stated in either inch-pound or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. The SI units are shown in parentheses. The values stated in each system may not be exactly equivalent; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.
