This standard establishes requirements for freight containers
which are intended to meet International Organization for
Standardization (ISO) Recommendations. Requirements are provided
for Dimensions and Ratings: Specification and Testing; Corner
Fittings; Marking and Terminology.
Purpose
Many carriers shippers. leasing companies repair facilities and manufacturers are involved in international intermodal transportation systems and prefer that the containers transported or serviced by them should be in compliance with ISO Recommendations. This standard provides the ISO Recommendations to permit these interested groups to meet those requirements.
